Entrepreneur at heart.

When I was little (I'm in the red dress), I started several mini-businesses from jewelry making to doing computer work for my Grandfather (he still doesn't know how to type!) to mowing lawns to cleaning & organizing houses (I have some OCD tendencies--I alphabetized the soups in the pantry when I was 8 yrs old)...Needless to say, I've been a self-starter, entrepreneur from the get-go.
I've made things since I could remember including photo collages, shadow boxes and vision boards. I'm a firm believer that we need tangible reminders to DAILY remind us of our life purpose, goals and vision. My Grandfather often recites this Chinese proverb,
I've made things since I could remember including photo collages, shadow boxes and vision boards. I'm a firm believer that we need tangible reminders to DAILY remind us of our life purpose, goals and vision. My Grandfather often recites this Chinese proverb,
"If you don't know where you are going,
how will you know when you get there?"
That couldn't be more true. Over the years, I've made reminders for myself from affirmation posters to flash card rings to photo books to vision boards. I even tore up a book a few years ago and made a collage out of the photos because I loved it so much. I wanted to SEE it and be reminded of its powerful and thought-provoking message.
We need daily reminders of the direction we want to go in. If we don't, we'll end up floating through life waking up in 20-30-40 years from now wondering what we've done with our lives.
This past Christmas I took my collage skills to the digital world. I know how obsessed people are with Pinterest and I just didn't buy it. I don't like the whole virtual bulletin board although I loved a lot of the quotes and photos on there. I wanted to make it REAL--something I could SEE, TOUCH and look at DAILY not on a screen, but UP-CLOSE and personal. So I made collages for a handful of special people in my life.
Since giving those gifts in December, I've received great feedback. My friends tell me that they love their posters and their friends do too. One college girl told me that her roommates and her want to hang it in their common room so everyone can see it!
So I've decided to share the love and pass it on. I hope you enjoy what you see and if you have an idea for a poster theme, send it my way!
